Annie Klopenberg | Choreography creates original works in collaboration with dancers and multi-disciplinary artists to engage audiences as co-collaborators in the visceral pursuit of meaning-making. Each work concerns itself anew with movement vocabulary, visual elements, and spatial design, which yield content and context, developing particular languages of movement for each work and classifying each work as a total experience for audience and performers alike.

Company Narrative
Kloppenberg’s work has been performed at venues such as Movement Research at the Judson Church, Dance Space Center (now DNA), Jennifer Muller/The Works, Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, Green Street Studios, and The Bates Dance Festival, among others. In 2002, Kloppenberg’s first full concert, Caution: Flammable, was produced by Green Street Studios’ first Emerging Artist program. In 2005, she returned to GSS for a one time follow-up series to help rebuild momentum for that Emerging Artist Program, which continues to support the work of new artists in Boston. Between 2006-2009, Kloppenberg created multiple new works as candidate for an MFA at The Ohio State University, including the evening-length project Indelible Marks, which toured to Boston and New York. In 2009, Kloppenberg was the first resident choreographer chosen for the Dublin Arts Council and OhioDance’s now annual site-specific project commission, Gravity’s Ripple. In 2009, she was a Dance Theater Workshop Outer/Space Resident Artist, in New York, where she began to develop her company’s current project, Expert Witness, which saw its next phase of development in summer 2010 at the Boston Center For the Arts where she was selected for the first Dance Residency Program.
