Annie Kloppenberg

Kendra Portier trained and performed with BalletMet and later received a BFA in dance from The Ohio State University. Her professional work has been with choreographers such as Lisa Race/Scott Cohen, Jennifer Nugent, Hoi Polloi, Nicole Wolcott Dance, David Dorfman Dance, Vanessa Justice Dance, MVWorks, and collaborations with Launch Movement Experiment. Kendra teaches regularly as a guest artist at Dance New Amsterdam, is on faculty at Hunter College and Monroe Dance Academy, and runs Dancepantsnyc, a community-based investigation of movement philosophies. She has been a guest artist and/or presented work at DNA, 92nd Street Y, Triskelion Arts, OSU, Hunter College, Judson Church, Green Street Studios, and continues to actively pursue her own choreography. 

Alli Ruszkowski has taught at Peridance, Monroe Dance Academy, and is a teaching artist in the Dance Exposure Project through Connecticut Ballet. She began working with Annie in 2005 and has had the pleasure of working with MVWorks, Vanessa Justice Dance, Launch Movement Experiment, Julian Barnett, and Fivefour. Alli received a BFA in dance performance from the Ohio State University in 2003.  She has also had the pleasure of studying at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Bates Dance Festival, and American Dance Festival NYC.

Caitlin Ewing is a Boston-based dance artist and a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a BFA in Dance.  Born in New Hampshire, she received extensive training from The New England School of Dance.  As a performer, choreographer and improviser, her dancing is deeply rooted in the collaborative experience.  Caitlin has had the privilege to perform in works by artists including Bebe Miller, Victoria Uris, Annie Kloppenberg and Foreground Dance.  Improvisation lies at the core of her dancing.  Her intensive work with Nik Hafner, Karl Rogers, Ming Shen Ku, Like You Mean It and The Architects led her to become one of the founding members of P.I.E. (Performance Improvisation Ensemble), which toured the Ohio region and the east coast in 2010.  Her most recent project brought Caitlin to London, England where she performed a solo under the direction of Alison Smith.  She is currently in collaboration with Sarah Mae Gibbons and Kelly Onder to establish a dance company in Boston.   

Sarah Mae Gibbons, holds a BFA in dance with a minor in education from The Ohio State University. There, she performed in works by independent choreographers, students, and faculty including Bebe Miller, Ming Lung Yang, Victoria Uris, Annie Kloppenberg, Shawn Hove, and Foreground Dance. Sarah Mae’s aesthetic and interests lie in her attention to improvisation in performance, dance as a means of education, and discovering links between choreography and research. Sarah Mae teaches at the “Dance Place” and for the “Cambridge Performance Project”. In addition, Sarah Mae’s choreography has received recognition at the Ohio Christian Dance Assembly. She is one of the founding members of P.I.E. (Performance improvisation Ensemble) a touring compositional improvisation community. Finally, she is currently working in collaboration with Caitlin Ewing and Kelly Onder on their own choreography. 

Kelly Onder originally from Richmond, Virginia danced and trained with the Latin Ballet of Virginia.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude  from The Ohio State University in 2010 with Honors in the Arts and Distinction in Dance with a concentration in choreography, performance, and improvisation. While at OSU, she enjoyed performing in new works by Melanie Bales, Bebe Miller, Victoria Uris, and Ming-LungYang. Kelly is an active choreographer who bases her process in collaboration and improvisation. She was one of the founding members of P.I.E. (Performance Improvisation Ensemble) and frequently presented works in various concerts at OSU. Kelly is currently located in Boston where she is working with Caitlin Ewing and Sarah Mae Gibbons in establishing a new dance company.
